Their work often explores themes on racial injusticea and human rights. The band members being people of minority ethnicities, were the first non reggae band to earn the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Recording, a feat they won in 1986 with single “Babylon the Bandit.” Steel Pulse has released a total of 12 studio albums.
Birmingham based British band performs a myriad of genres including ska, punk, reggae, pop and soul. The band made waves in the 80s with groundbreaking studio albums I Just Can’t Stop It, Wha’ppen, and Special Beat Service.
Filipino American singer-songwriter rose to prominence with her stint in American Idol. Eli Mac, a Hawaii Native, pursued her solo career shortly after leaving the reality competition series. In 2008, she released a single “Guava Jelly” with Stephen Marley. Her latest notable hit, “Can’t Get Enough” was released in 2018.
