Beginning as an eccentric eight-piece ska outfit in the mid nineties, California’s the Aquabats were praised for helping energize a fresh wave of ska-punk from key players like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Squirrel Nut Zippers. Suited and booted in matching masks and vibrant costumes which are inspired by Adam West's Batman from the sixties, the band debuted with their 1996's The Return of the Aquabats!. Formed in Huntington Beach, the Aquabats are recognized for their comedic persona as crime-fighting superheroes and high energy performances. Their entertaining theatrical stage shows can feature anything from stunts to fight scenes with costumed villains and monsters. Over the years, this eight piece has constantly evolved their sound. Kicking things off as a ska band, the Aquabats reinvented themselves at the turn of the millennium as a new wave–influenced rock outfit. Their sound fuses elements of rock and punk with new wave, ska and synth-pop.

The current group members include: the M.C. Bat Commander (Christian Jacobs), Crash McLarson (Chad Larson on bass and backing vocals), Jimmy the Robot (James Briggs on keyboards, saxophone, woodwinds, and backing vocals), Ricky Fitness (Richard Falomir on drums, percussion, and backing vocals), Eaglebones Falconhawk (Ian Fowles on guitar and backing vocals), Catboy (Boyd Terry on trumpet, various brass instruments, and backing vocals), Chainsaw the Prince of Karate (Courtney Pollock on guitar), as well as newcomer Gorney (Matthew Gorney on piano and keyboards).

To date, these superheroes have dropped six incredible studio albums, two extended plays, a compilation and a soundtrack album. Their records are so legendary that they’ve charted onto the Billboard 200, with 1997's The Fury of The Aquabats!, 2011's Hi-Five Soup! and 2019's The Aquabats! Super Show! Television Soundtrack: Volume One. The latter is the Aquabats highest Billboard charting album. With epic tunes, such as “Showtime!," "Burger Rain!,” and “Feel My Steel!,” it’s no wonder that The Aquabats! Super Show! Television Soundtrack: Volume One even topped the Heatseekers Albums chart. Don’t miss out on this rare chance to catch the Aquabats live. Grab your tickets now and you could be singing along to their earlier exuberant ska and contemporary playful, punky indie rock like Kooky Spooky...In Stereo this summer!
